We had shopped for a year looking at different models of 'wedding cake' steps. This model didn't require using a landing pad. The suction cups keep the steps steady to the bottom and there is a slight give to them. Water flows freely underneath the unit preventing algae buildup. Easy assembly and installation. A canister of sand located on the 3rd step keeps the steps anchored as well as the easy adjustable handrail that screws down onto the
deck. We would highly recommend this model.
